The Naughty Night Stalker [Feb. 23rd, 2010|09:56 am]
for those of us 'differently interested'

(Mods, if this is not allowed, I apologize!)

About two years ago I corresponded with Richard Ramírez pretty frequently. He was shy, polite but withdrawn at first but over the course of almost a year, he slowly opened up. We had some pretty interesting discussions. We exchanged photographs and he praised me with compliments and constantly asked for more.

Finally, he manned up and asked me, in very specific detail, to take certain "naughty" photos of myself for him. I could not read the letter/request with a straight face. I still can't! I thought it was completely inappropriate and hilarious. I had no idea how to reply other than with a "wtf, perv!" So, I haven't responded to that letter yet.

I may write him again, now that time has passed, hoping he's forgotten by now and we can "start over."

But anyway, after giving it some thought (and after several requests) I've decided to share the "inappropriate letter".

He also included two separate pieces of paper. One with a story which he thought was amusing (and apparently thought it would amuse me too). Another with a drawing for me.

They can be found HERE at killer_culture.

New True Crime vs. Crime-in-the-Media Community Promo [Feb. 22nd, 2010|09:29 am]
for those of us 'differently interested'

killer_culture is a community for those interested in true crime as well as related books, movies, television shows, etc. Anything related to true crime (even fictional) is welcome: debates, discussions concerning tv shows/movies/books (Dexter, Criminal Minds, Law & Order, etc.), icons, questions, news articles, pictures, pretty much anything relevant.

We're a brand new community and we're looking for interested members, "fans" of various crime-based shows/movies/etc. to keep debates/discussions fresh and interesting and to get the ball rolling. We're trying to stand out; since there are tons of true crime communities and tons of fandom communities...we're combining the two, in a sense! If this turns into a "one-trick-pony", it's going to die fast, and we don't want that!

If anyone has any questions, concerns or suggestions, contact me or the other mod, ar_poe.

Brushes for Photoshop 5.0 [Feb. 3rd, 2007|11:59 am]
for those of us 'differently interested'

[Current Location |home]
[mood |creative]
[music |Depeche Mode - Mercy in You]

(Background (if need be): Artist/Model/Photographer/Web Design/Freelancing Fiend...working slowly but surely at getting a new version of my website up and running...old hard drive was stolen and previous web account hacked so I'm stuck working from scratch on my soon-to-be hubby's PC...using Photoshop as the main program for all graphics and photo editing/manipulating/general pimping.)

My fiancee's PC has an earlier version of Photoshop than I'm used to, and it's been difficult getting acclimated to it. I'm not thrilled with what I am (and am not, compared to more recent versions) able to do with it, but I'll use it anyway because I'm too cheap (*cough*BROKE*cough*) to get a newer/better version I've been trying to hunt down some good brushes and textures, but it seems as though the CS and 7.0+ versions of Photoshop dominate the downloads. I've found maybe 10 brush sets in my travels that work with my version and are worth using. I'd appreciate it if anyone could help me out since I'm just about exhausted with searching. Can anybody point me toward some sites, collectives, or artists with interesting, original, and high quality brushes made for Photoshop 5.0? If anyone has any of their own, that would be great as well. If you have some of your own and you're willing to hook me up, those will definitely get used for the page and I guarantee it would earn you a credit and link in the main navigation of my site. I'm cool like that.

Apologies if any community I posted this to finds this off-topic; if I posted it here I already check the rules to make sure it's cool, and it's only because I thought the other members of this particular community would be in the know.
Thanks in advance to anybody who lends a helping hand.

X-posted: All over the place, in my journal and numerous related communities.
